The Alannah and Madeline Foundation was set up in memory of Alannah and Madeline Mikac, aged six and three, who were tragically killed with their mother and 32 others at Port Arthur, Tasmania, on 28 April 1996. The foundation aims to care for children who have experienced or witnessed serious violence, reduce the incidence of bullying, cyberbullying and other cyber risks, and, advocate for the safety and wellbeing of children.
Since November 2017, Salon Pay has helped contribute to thousands of Buddy Bags being delivered to children in need across Australia. Buddy Bags are backpacks filled with basic, essential items for thousands of children in emergency accommodation.
We are so honoured to be able to support this foundation and hope to help increase awareness around family violence and support the most vulnerable in our community.
